Questions before you request a quote
Does a ticket or accident automatically make me uninsurable?
A driving-record change is a reason to review your options, not assume the outcome. California auto rating gives priority to driving safety record, annual mileage and years of driving experience. Ask how the insurer evaluated your record and whether its information is correct.

California Insurance Code 1861.02(c) says the absence of prior auto insurance, by itself, cannot determine Good Driver Discount eligibility or generally rates, premiums or insurability. That rule does not establish that other facts in your application are irrelevant.

No. An SR-22 is proof of insurance. DMV describes it as one requirement for reinstatement after a DUI; other requirements can apply. Check your DMV notice and confirm your driving privilege directly with DMV. A quote request does not complete that process.

The California Department of Insurance identifies the California Automobile Assigned Risk Plan (CAARP) as a route for drivers unable to purchase liability coverage because of a poor driving record. Ask an agent about eligibility and the application process; this website does not approve CAARP applications.
